Fall is on the horizon and I love this time
of year since I use elements of nature
along with the vintage pieces in our home.
Using nature has such beautiful hues...
I think by far dried branches are my favorite
element to add inside of urns and on tables.
Our home is filled with driftwood
spilling across tables and placed in vintage baskets...
Coral is another one of
my favorite " staples " in my home decor...
I use various types of coral
for different effects...
Using nature always adds texture
to my displays...
Sometimes I will even add a touch of quirky as
seen above with my vintage anatomy prints...
Simple elegance in a bird's nest
placed in a vintage platter...
Natural grass is a great rustic
filler for my vintage pieces...
This week I will be linking up to
my usual favorite gals...

Jann at Share your cup Thursday
Debra's Vintage Inspiration

In case you missed the announcement
I will be having fun

Gorgeous photos of your home!! About 6 months ago there was a big storm and a nest had fallen out of a tree. I was so excited to have this beautiful nest for my home. When my neighbors saw me carrying it home I think they thought I was a little crazy! lol! One them asked "where are going to put that?" in an incredulous voice.

I thought of you today... seriously! As I pulled into the driveway, after an early morning errand, I had to stop. While away, a large branch had fallen, due to a quick rain storm, and it had to be moved before putting the car in the garage. The bark was dark from the rain, and it's craggy tendrils were coated with moss. Instantly thought of Halloween and then thought, noooo... these would great in the house! Imagine the smaller pieces in one of my cloches! Can't wait for them to dry out so I can complete my idea! See? Love how bloggers help inspire others!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always Kate!! I always love the little touches that you add around your home!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new venture, I look forward to reading more about it!
Take care sweet friend.
Sincerely,
Melinda

Hello Kate!
ReplyDeleteAs always your home is so lovely! I especially love the driftwood you put here and there, such a beautiful touch...On an earlier post you showed driftwood you had put in, I think it was glass vases or containers, and it got me "driftwood decorating"! Oh, I also love the branches in the urn and the coral as well. :)
I hope you have a beautiful Tuesday! :)
Blessings and hugs,
Jenni
