This summer season
has been filled with my passion
of rescue...
This mirror stole my heart with its rusty
iron and old rope...
I wanted a console table that would add
a bit of a rustic feel so
thankfully Mr. Dior came to my rescue
when I gave him
{two sides of a tree box for legs}
{a half of an old plank pallet}
{and one plank of old wood for a front face}
Yes all rescued
This patina of bleached gray wood
there is no other for this girl's heart...
I added some old willow and
dried brush to bring that element of nature
I love to use...
I stumbled across the porcelain
stag horn at the Goodwill
and could not resist him...
A lovely new spot in our family room...
I will be linking up this week with my favorite
ladies in blog land...

Hi Kate, you know i too round à mirror like yours at one of our thrifts and wished I had picked it up for myself. I then noticed a fellow space dealer friend had come along a snagged it up placed it in her space with all it's surroundings it made me regret even more so that I did not grab it up. It looks so good in your home and happy that you too did not let it get away.
ReplyDeleteYour style is so me but, you know that already. You inspire me to add more old woods with the very patina of stained grey woods we love so, my folding chair in my latest post would look perfect up next to your grouping adding to your vignette that I would want to reproduce at my home.
Thank you for the GiveAway it's so generous and a most beautiful one.
A beautiful weekend to you.

I swan girl. I'm willing to bet a dollar to a donut, if given two sticks and a 2x4, you and Mr. Dior could build an armoire! Y'all knock my socks off ( or would if I wore shoes) with the talent you possess. God has blessed y'all abundantly.

Oh I just love this table. I think I can do it with driftwood from the beach across the street. There is even an old washed up thingy-ma-jiggy that I think would work for legs! Ooh you really have me going now.
ReplyDeleteHello Kate~
ReplyDeleteI love your new table, and how you used salvaged pieces to create it! And I agree, there is nothing quite like that driftwood color! :)
You also created such a pretty vignette with the mirror and dried willow in the basket, too! Altogether beautiful, my friend! :)
I hope you have a wonderful night!
